In the framework of the 9th EMES International Research Conference on Social Enterprise and Cooperatives, on 11th September in Frankfurt it will take place the conference “Energy Sharing: a chance for local energy market against climate change?”.The venue of the event is Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, from 15.00 to 16.30 (Room 108, 1st floor), with the participation of Sara Capuzzo, president of ènostra, Stephan C. Krabsen, EBO Consult (Dänemark), Ginevra Figini, Centre international de formation européenne. The conference will be coordinated by Benjamin Dannemann, of the German federal office of energetic cooperatives DGRV.The panel will give a quick inside view on the Energy Sharing in Austria, the Netherlands and Italy. Together with the audience the panel will discuss the new possibilities for a local energy market, the obstacles of the existing market and the role of energy communities in the future energy market. The aim is to illustrate the opportunities of local and cooperative ventures in different countries against global challenges. The workshop will also discuss new research questions in the area of tension between member support and the common good, cooperative and social enterprise, and cooperative management and social entrepreneurship.
